Conrad Kain Mountain Film Night

Following on the heels of last year’s successful Conrad Kain Mountain Film Night at J.A. Laird school (13 St & 13 Ave) in Invermere, the CKCS has decided to make this an annual event.
The evening is comprised of films from the best of the Vancouver International Mountain Film Fest, and will be held April 24, 2009.
Details of the films to be shown can be found here.
Doors open at 6 p.m., films 7 p.m. til midnight.
Film Tickets $12 at the door. Children under 8 free of charge.
Advance tix: Fields store, (250) 341-6173, and J.A. Laird School, (250) 342-6232
Door prizes range from Alpine Club of Canada mountain huts overnight passes, a backpack from Ortovox Canada, a lovely aerial photo of the Bugaboos by photographer John Scurlock, and copies of the Centennial edition of Kain's biography: Where the Clouds Can Go. Artist Pat Bavin has donated a lovely painting, Local Climbs, Conrad Kain to be raffled as a fund raiser for the CKCS.
Like last year, a brief talk on Conrad Kain's life and times and a selection of films will be shown to the students of J.A. Laird prior to the evening's program.
And this year, a climber's meet, the Kain Krank Bouldering Festival, will be held the day after the films in the same location. Mike Baker, CKCS member, is hosting the event - see poster below for details on registration, and to contact Mike:
Due to time and space restrictions, the numbers of participants in the Bouldering Fest will be capped at the first 50 entrants.
